About murphy
Murphy’s journey to becoming a freelance illustrator is not exactly an atypical story. Murphy had a long run of jobs that included “store artist” at Tower Records (remember them?), window installer for a construction company, and housekeeper at an international hostel, before coming to a crossroads in life. Relocating from San Diego to Portland, a change of scenery brought a change in life’s direction, and the search for an actual career. He went back to school to study Graphic Design at Portland State, and in his first job as a studio designer he found illustration. Funny enough, his dad was a creative (a photographer for the FBI), and many times had suggested Graphic Design as a career. But, teenagers don’t listen to their dads.
Now, years down the road, Murphy finds himself running his own one-man show, doing his own taxes, and writing incredible emails.
If you’d like to work with Murphy, please reach out, he’s nice.
